Choosing which gym is right for you can be almost as much work as actually getting into shape. Navigating various prices, contracts, and locations is often a headache, and customers find that many gyms don’t turn out to be quite what they advertised themselves as.

When it comes to the biggest gym chains in the U.S., a new report tried to sift through what customers are actually saying about the businesses they patronize. Chatmeter’s 2025 Gym Reputation Ranking Report used a “Pulse Ai: Signals platform to analyze customer feedback (via Google Reviews) of 1,000 randomly-selected gym locations across the 10 largest gym chains in the US.”

The company found that EōS Fitness came out as a clear customer favorite. The gym, which bills itself as a “high value” and “low price” offering where you can “flex your muscles and stretch your wallet,” is currently expanding, with locations in California, Nevada, Utah, Arizona, Texas, Georgia, and Florida according to its website.

Chatmeter’s report indicated that customers most appreciated the chain’s “clean facilities, maintenance practices, new equipment and notably helpful and friendly staff members.” It also noted repeated mentions of “unique offerings like EōS’ cardio theater, which offers cardio equipment like treadmills, stationary bikes and elliptical machines in a movie theater.”

EōS Fitness came out ahead of No. 2, Snap Fitness, as well as third-ranked Crunch Fitness, in Chatmeter’s report. Meanwhile, luxury chains like Equinox and Life Time Fitness found themselves further down the rankings.
